Turn your co-op's data into decisions
Exchange rates, benchmarks, the dashboards, and a plain-language explanation of how the trickier metrics are calculated.
Unlike the other modules, Analytics doesn't need much "setup" — it reads the data your organization already produces in Governance, HR, Payroll, Inventory, and Accounting and turns it into dashboards. The two things worth configuring up front are exchange rates (so multi-currency figures roll up correctly) and benchmarks (so your KPIs are compared against targets that fit your co-op). This guide also explains how a few of the trickier metrics are calculated, so the numbers are easy to trust.
| View | Any Member | Manager | Admin |
|---|---|---|---|
| Analytics overview (Cooperative Health, your insights) | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Financial, Workforce, Governance, Impact dashboards | Yes | Yes | Yes |
| Analytics Administration panel (overview) | — | Yes | Yes |
| Pay Equity dashboard | — | HR/Acct* | Yes |
| Exchange Rates settings | — | — | Yes |
| Benchmark settings | — | Yes | Yes |
*The Pay Equity dashboard is available to Admins, Managers, and members with the HR Management or View Accounting permission. The member-level drill-down (individual pay history) follows the same gate.
Why this matters
If a rate is missing for a currency, those records are excluded from the totals rather than guessed at — so a missing rate quietly understates revenue, payroll, and profit until you add it.| Dashboard | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Financial | Revenue, expenses, net profit, payroll-to-revenue ratio |
| Workforce | Team metrics, retention |
| Governance | Voting participation, proposal pass rate, election metrics |
| Impact | Community and cooperative impact |
| Pay Equity | Highest-paid:median ratio, pay deciles, role-band variance, opt-in gender pay gap |
| Labor Cost | Cost center, overtime, fully-loaded cost, turnover |
| Profit-Share Preview | Per-member draft allocations |
Participation counts every member who cast a vote of any kind — Yes, No, or Abstain — as a share of those eligible to vote.
So a proposal where everyone abstained would show 100% participation but 0% approval — high engagement, no consensus. Keep the two ideas separate: participation is "did people show up," not "did they agree."
The opt-in gender pay gap only includes members who explicitly self-identify — nobody is counted without opting in. On top of that, any subgroup smaller than the configured minimum cell-size threshold is suppressed so that individuals can't be identified from a small group. If suppression leaves fewer than two comparable subgroups, the gap isn't displayed at all. This is a privacy protection, not an error.
As described in Step 1, every monetary metric is converted to the reporting currency first. Any record whose currency has no exchange rate is left out of the total (and surfaced in the "records excluded" notice) rather than silently approximated — so totals stay accurate, and the fix is always "add the missing rate."
| Step | What to Do | Why |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Confirm reporting currency & add exchange rates | Multi-currency figures roll up correctly; nothing is excluded |
| 2 | Override the benchmarks you manage | KPIs are compared against targets that fit your co-op |
| 3 | Explore the dashboards | Know where each metric lives |
| 4 | Skim “Understanding the Metrics” | Read the trickier numbers with confidence |
